Hazardous waste can be dropped off

The city Department of Streets invites the public to drop off household hazardous waste on Thursday, July 17, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the department’s center at State Road and Ashburner Street.

Examples of waste that will be accepted are oil-based paint, used oil, solvents, pesticides and car batteries. Latex or water-based paint is not hazardous and can be placed in the regular trash if the paint is dry.
